We had another great week with our Halloween activities! This week we had fun with mummies! After reading a story about mummies, we made a mummy by tearing kleenex and glueing it on a person. During center time we played Halloween Bingo, made monsters with playdoh and plastic pieces, played a shape and gum ball grab game, weighed pumpkins, and made a witches broom using beads. In addition we practiced patterning after reading our book about monster patterns. (problem solving, fine motor, using language, following 2 step directions, matching, shapes, patterns)
Our letter of the week was the letter O. We discussed it looks like the number zero and as a shape, it looks like an oval. During our 2nd Steps lesson, we learned people can have different feelings about the same activity. For example, Susie was scared of the dentist and Sammy was happy to see the dentist. During gym we were flew like ghosts, walked like mummies, crawled like spiders and flew like a bat. (gross motor, answering questions, identifying emotions, letters, letter sound)
